Riverina Romantics

  1. Describe yourself in one word:
    Stressaholic
  2. Tell us a little about your website/blog:
Riverina Romantics is a blog dedicated to all books “romancy”. We review, we chat, we highlight some awesome authors and have a lot of fun doing it.
  3. What can you do specifically to help authors?
We do a lot of book features, giveaways and excerpts. Review requests are always coming in – but because we only review the books we’re interested in, we can’t always help in this department. However, we do not and will not ever give bad publicity to an author. If we accept a review request and can’t rate it above three stars, we won’t review it. Reviewing – and enjoying books in general is based on personal preferences, whether it be genre, writing style, etc. So when I set up the blog I didn’t feel that the things I dislike should taint someone else from reading a book. We pimp out the books we love and celebrate the hard work that authors do.
  4. You have great marketing direction, what’s your number one digital marketing tip for authors?
Hmm, there are way too many tips to give. But the main one I suppose is to try not to sound like a used car salesman. Use your social media accounts to not only promote your work, but allow your readers to get to know you. You will receive a lot more feedback/interaction when you talk about your life in general instead of constantly saying “Buy my book”
  5. Your all-time favourite novel and/or novelist?
I have many. But Cindy Gerard, Gena Showalter and Kresley Cole stand out from the crowd.
  6. Favourite fictional character:
Zsadist. Do I even need to mention what book he is from?
  7. Number one thing to do on your bucket list:
Visit the US. I live in Australia.
  8. What book has changed your opinion/stance on something important to you, and why?
My own books have done this. Becoming a published author has made me more aware of the struggles authors face…and there are many. That is why Riverina Romantics is a place to celebrate authors, not drag them down. Life is hard enough without people getting on a soapbox and announcing why they hate your book.
  9. Biggest accomplishment to date:
Having my own books published and hitting #54 on Amazon with my latest release.
  10. What’s next for you?
More blogging. More writing. And enjoying the awesome romance readers and writers community.
