AUSSIE MONTH with Monica James
Describe yourself in one word:
Tell us about Addicted to Sin:
Addicted to Sin is a tale filled with angst, seduction, love, revenge, betrayal, and the list goes on. It is broken up into five acts, (like every Shakespearean play) as the themes throughout the book can be linked to Shakespeare’s plays—conflict; love and hate, fate and free will, imprisonment and freedom, madness, revenge, and sin and salvation. Also, one of the main characters is called Juliet.

What inspired this novel?
Like most of my books, Addicted to Sin came to me while I was in bed, trying (trying being the operative word) to sleep. I’ve always wanted to write a book from a male’s POV and I thought if I’m going to do this, then I do this with no reservations and no safety nets. I wanted to write a story which was such a paradox, readers would be turning each page, desperate to find out what comes next because let’s face facts, the storyline in Addicted to Sin isn’t exactly conventional. And I love that. I love that I’ve pushed some boundaries and limits. As an author, there is no greater achievement than having a reader message you after reading your work and expressing how much they loved your book. I’ve always been interested in psychology and I love New York, so the storyline wrote itself once I nutted out whom I wanted my character to be and where I wanted him to be doing these sinful acts from.

Hug Jared Leto
Best thing about being an Aussie?
Living in a country where we’re known for saying, ‘No worries, mate,’ to almost everything makes me proud to be an Aussie. Not to mention all of our beautiful native animals. Oh, and did I mention Liam Hemsworth was born in Australia?
What you want readers to know about the romance genre?
Romance comes in many shapes and sizes- that’s what makes it such a thriving genre. Romance is the best escapism to lose oneself in. Whether you’re seeing the world through the hero or heroines eyes, it sucks you in and doesn’t let go.
What have you got in store for your readers in 2016?
Driven to Sin book 2 in the Sinful Pleasures Series will be released, and I’m hoping to unleash a new project midyear.
What were your big achievements of 2015?
Releasing Addicted to Sin and meeting all my wonderful readers in Australia and in the USA.
Addicted to Sin
Tell me your deepest, darkest secrets. I dare you.
Addiction comes down to one simple, primitive concept. Desire.
My name is Dr. Dixon Matthews, and I’m New York’s finest shrink. For $500 an hour, people tell me their darkest, most sinful secrets.
My own addiction? Sex.
I might be certified in solving other people’s problems, but not mine – I know I’m a lost cause. I don’t do relationships. I don’t even do the same woman twice.
But that’s all about to change, thanks to two entirely different women who awaken my deepest desires.
Who will I choose?
I know who I should choose, but I never said I was the hero of this story, or even the good guy. And besides, who wants to be good, when it feels so good being bad?
My tale isn’t for the fainthearted. If you’re game, strap yourself in and expect the unexpected. But don’t say I didn’t warn you…
Achingly sexy and highly addictive, the first in the Sinful Pleasures Series will have you hooked. Driven to Sin coming very soon…
