AUSSIE MONTH with Joanne Dannon

Describe yourself in one word:

What inspired Kisses under the Spotlight?
I’ve always had a soft spot for handsome crooners, think Hugh Jackman, Michael Bublé, Harry Connick, Jr., and Michael Feinstein. Smooth looks, smooth voice, smooth moves. Sigh! So when I needed inspiration for my new book I looked no further than my collection of CDs. Ta-da, meet Alex Jackson. He can sing, tap dance upside down, perform, and has millions of adoring fans. I also spent waaaaaay too many hours watching Adam Garcia dancing clips; my favourite being: http://tinyurl.com/p6mp8jw (forward to 1:50 min). So if you think tap dancing belongs back sixty years ago, watch Adam. He’s made dancing sexy again—just like my hero! So many of my favourite romances revolve around “fairy tales” so it’s no wonder I wrote a novel with a superstar falling for an ordinary gal J

What are you reading right now?
Meeting Max by Richard Brumer.

Number one thing to do on your bucket list?
Sip champagne with hubby, watching the world go by, at Lake Como

Best thing about being an Aussie?
Being able to live in this wonderful country, Australia J

What you want readers to know about the romance genre?
That it’s a wonderful genre to read with so many sub-genres available.

What have you got in store for your readers in 2016?
A four book series (The Alex Jackson series, Book1 came out in December 2015) and a happy holidays’ novella.

What were your big achievements of 2015?
After the disappointment of going through redundancy in my corporate career, I’m thankful I took time off to focus on my writing career. I’ve now had 2 books published and started a company, Clarendon 3 Publishing to help and mentor beginner and emerging upcoming writers.

Fairy tales aren’t just for princesses

Superstar Alex Jackson steers clear of any emotional involvement after a series of life-changing events turned his life, and heart, inside out and upside down. Broken and deeply scarred, he has sworn to remain single and emotionally aloof to all women.

Physiotherapist Violet McKenzie, is distrustful of men—famous men being at the top of her list for good reason. She’s learned a thing or two about them and has made a conscious effort to stay as far away as she possibly can.

Until sexy Alex needs her professional assistance after a stage mishap and she becomes his personal physio. Violet has sworn off love, but when Alex’s hot kisses keep her up at night longing for more, she wonders if she can remain steadfast to her personal promise to never fall for the wrong guy again.

Can a superstar and an ordinary girl have a happily ever after, or is that only reserved for the songs Alex sings?
