Tell us about Pretend It’s Love:
Pretend It’s Love is the second book in my Behind the Bar series and I thought it would be a great pick for Aussie month since it’s set in my hometown of Melbourne. This is a fake relationship story (one of my favourites!) and it features a laid-back bartender called Paul and an independent entrepreneur called Libby. There are plenty of shenanigans as they pretend to be in love in order to try and get Pauls brother, Des, (who you might remember from The Rules According to Gracie) to stock Libby’s line of infused vodkas. There’s drinking games, kissing games, and plenty of things that are definitely not pretending.

What inspired this novel?
Initially I had written The Rules According to Gracie to be a standalone novella, but request after request came in for more stories in the series. Then the ideas started to bubble away. In the first book we see Paul as a total ladies’ man, but I knew that wasn’t really him deep down. I also wanted to explore Des’s Italian family (who didn’t get much of a showing in the first book) and look at the dynamics of the two brothers.

What are you reading right now?
I always seem to have a few books on the go. I’m currently reading Vicious by V.E. Schwab which is a superhero novel about two anti-heroes. It’s really good! I’m also enjoying Big Magic by Elizabeth Gilbert.

Number one thing to do on your bucket list?
Go to Italy! I’ve always wanted to see where my family came (not to mention drink the fabulous coffee and eat all that wonderful food) from but I’ve been to Europe twice now and am yet to go there. It’ll happen…one day.

Best thing about being an Aussie?
Fresh produce, especially lamb! That’s something I totally took for granted when I lived in Australia…what I would do for some yummy Australian lamb that didn’t cost the earth.

What you want readers to know about the romance genre?
There’s something for everyone. No matter what type of book you like there will be an author who writes a romance for you. If you like it sweet or steamy, contemporary or historical, real or fantastical…there’s a book for you.

What have you got in store for your readers in 2016?
My Dangerously Sexy Series (with Harlequin/Mills and Boon Blaze) continues in 2016! The second book in this series, A Dangerously Sexy Affair, will be out in April and features as gamer heroine and an ex-FBI Police hero. There’s mystery, plenty of heat and a dash of Mario Kart. I had a blast writing it. Book three is roughly scheduled for spring 2016.

I’ve also got a book coming out that’s part of the Entangled Lovestruck’s What Happens in Vegas continuity. I do love a good Vegas-set story, especially where the hero and heroine get up to mischief in the hotel room 😉

What were your big achievements of 2015?
Going full time with my writing was probably the biggest thing I am proud of. It’s a scary leap for a writer, because you never know what’s going to happen. But I couldn’t be happier.
