Tell us about Selling the Drama:
Selling the Drama is a family saga that follows the lives of two people who meet as teenagers through to their later life. It’s full of drama, romance, secrets, good times and bad – all the usual things I like to mix into my novels.

What inspired this novel?
I was writing another novel with these characters but after about 100 pages I was no longer satisfied with the direction these characters were headed with relation to each other. So I scrapped it and started again, entirely fresh story, same two characters, but in the context that my brain was moving them. Other factors always enter into the inspiration process – music mainly, as well as popular issues.

Selling the Drama

Orphaned at sixteen, Toby Harrison is already a survivor. Handsome and charismatic, yet fiercely ambitious, he’s an expert at illusion.

When Toby moves to the far north of Queensland to live with his godmother and a family he has never met, he is determined to begin a new life. A life where he has total control over everything and everyone within it.

But Toby’s controlled existence is threatened when he meets Charlotte, his godmother’s daughter. Beautiful, wild, and seductive, Charlotte is a force of nature that Toby has little chance of resisting.

As Toby and Charlotte embark on building a life together, Toby is faced with the harsh reality that love is not always enough when it comes to sharing your life with another person; while Charlotte is forced to accept that her picture perfect family might be hiding a destructive  secret.

A new Australian contemporary family saga by the author of In the Arms of Sleep and the highly acclaimed Somebody I Used to Know series.
