AUSSIE MONTH with Louise Lyndon

Describe yourself in one word: Functional

Tell us about Of Love and Betrayal:
Of Love and Betrayal is a historical romance set in the medieval period and takes place about sixty years after, Of Love and Vengeance – my first novel. It features the grandson of the hero and heroine from the first book. Our hero literally stumbles across the heroine, and before he knows it he’s having to save her life because she’s wanted for murder.

What inspired this novel?
Well, actually, I started writing this book because I was avoiding housework! Originally I had planned for Of Love and Vengeance to be a standalone book, but because I didn’t want to clean house, I found myself putting together the family tree of the hero and heroine from Vengeance. I got all the way to their great grandchildren, but one name kept popping out at me. Troy. He begged me to tell his story! Another grandchild is yelling at me to tell their story too. It’s tentatively titled, Of Love and Honour.

What are you reading right now?
The Rosie Effect by Graeme Simsion. It’s hilarious.

Number one thing to do on your bucket list?
See the Northern Lights.

Best thing about being an Aussie?
I’ve lived in a number of places around the world – so I’ve experienced a lot of different cultures and the best thing about being an Aussie is our laid back attitude. I love it. We don’t take ourselves too seriously and we can laugh at ourselves.

What you want readers to know about the romance genre?
It’s not necessarily about the ending – it’s about the journey our hero and heroines have to take to get their HEA.

What have you got in store for your readers in 2016?
I’ve got a few things lined up! Hopefully my first romantic suspense will be released. I can’t say too much about that yet, but stay tuned for an announcement shortly! Of Love and Honour, the next in the series is well under way. And I’ve also just started work on another romantic suspense.

What were your big achievements of 2015?
Writing wise? My second release, Of Love and Betrayal. I also attended my first Romance Writers of Australia conference in Melbourne – and was presented with my first sale ribbon – very exciting. I also met some wonderful people at the conference, most of who I have still kept in contact with. The Australian Romance Writers community is so supportive and friendly I’m so honoured to be a part of it.
