AUSSIE MONTH with Isabella Hargreaves
Describe yourself in one word:
Tell us about Journey’s End on the Western Plains:
Set in outback Queensland in 1924, Journey’s End on the Western Plains tells the romance between ex-pastoralist, ex-soldier and wanderer, Bill Carter, and Marion Henderson, matron of the Idavale Private Hospital.
What inspired this novel?
Bill is the secondary character from All Quiet on the Western Plains, who just wouldn’t stop trying to get the limelight, so when a reader requested his and Marion’s story, I gave in and wrote his romance.
What are you reading right now?
How to Write a Mystery by Larry Beinhart
Number one thing to do on your bucket list?
The number one thing on my bucket list is to visit my family in England in 2016. I haven’t seen them for five years.
Best thing about being an Aussie?
Living in a democratic country with rights and freedoms, a good standard of living, sunshine, beaches, amazing landscapes and wonderful people.
What you want readers to know about the romance genre?
How diverse it is! From traditional sweet romance to hot, sci-fi action romance and just about anything you can think of in between.
What have you got in store for your readers in 2016?
2016 will bring readers more stories set in rural Queensland; this time in the nineteenth century, when colonial life was testing.
What were your big achievements of 2015?
My big achievements of 2015 were Indie publishing my two previously-published works, after my publisher closed, and following up on that by releasing two additional stories.
