AUSSIE MONTH with Kellie Wallace

Describe yourself in one word:

Tell us about Her Sweetest Downfall:
Her Sweetest Downfall is a love story set in the midst of war. I’ve always loved forbidden love stories, particualrly during turbluent times such as war, famine etc.

What inspired this novel?
My undying obsession for the 1940s and love stories inspired me. I’ve always wanted to write an epic love story with multiple layers and I hope I’ve achieved that with Her Sweetest Downfall. I had so many ideas that I combined them to write the general outline of this book. The novel has about four aspects from others WIPs that I combined into one.

What are you reading right now?
A pre-order fantasy from a dear author friend

Number one thing to do on your bucket list?
Get an agent and be a successful author

Best thing about being an Aussie?
Our down to earth personalities, and the fact that every country seems to adore us! It must be our laid back attitude and groovy accent.

What you want readers to know about the romance genre?
The romance genre allows its readers to step out of their own lives, how mundane or boring they may be, and be swept up in the love and romance of two characters. I adore love stories and find myself obsessing over characters once I finish reading the book. Its escapism at its best.

What have you got in store for your readers in 2016?
I’ll be releasing my thriller Rogue Agent and hopefully finishing and release my new adult fantasy, Children Of Ice.

What were your big achievements of 2015?
Releasing two novels: Her Sweetest Downfall and Edge of Tomorrow.

Her Sweetest Downfall

At the height of the London Blitz, Viola Craft, a sexually repressed young woman is trapped in a loveless marriage to her God fearing husband Vernon. She spends her days working in her mother’s dress shop while Vernon pulls the dead from the rubble with his rescue crew.

Their marriage is turbulent and Viola feels pressured to bear a child. After failed attempts, Vernon believes she’s barren and alienates himself from their marriage.

One night during an air raid, she meets alluring German born Kristoff Richter. They make an in-stant connection. He’s young, good looking and emphatic. They embark on an illicit affair that leads to tragic consequences.
