AUSSIE MONTH with Lilliana Rose

Describe yourself in one word:
Tenacious

Tell us about Heart of Gold:
Heart of Gold is the second book in The Clockwork Mysteries series. Vickie wants to be a private eye, and her husband insists she takes self defence lessons before opening her business. The self defence lessons are going well, but when the instructor, Julio, is injured, Vickie can sense there’s something untoward going on. Against the advice of George and her friend Ruby, Vickie sets out to investigate Julio and lands herself in a life-threatening situation, where she’ll need more than self defence to survive.

What inspired this novel?
I wanted to write a story where a married couple tried to rekindled their love (book one, Change of Heart), then I realised I’d created something much bigger than one story and I couldn’t resist continuing the journey of Vickie and George, as well writing down the adventures with Vickie as she started her private eye business. In book two, Heart of Gold, I wanted to see how Vickie was going to juggle her new business as well as keep things spicy with her husband George.

What are you reading right now?
I’m reading ‘Fire Along the Sky’ by Sara Donati. I looove it!

Number one thing to do on your bucket list?
I would love to go to Turkey and I’d really like to go to the Gallipoli site.

Best thing about being an Aussie?
Living near clean beaches and being able to walk and swim frequently.

What you want readers to know about the romance genre?
I think romance readers are very savvy and know all there is about the genre. It’s a lot of fun to write, and read.

What have you got in store for your readers in 2016?
There will be another Clockwork Mysteries story coming out, Heart’s Desire, along with book two in Mecha Mania series, Circus Games. Plus a new series, Flower Readings.

What were your big achievements of 2015?
I finally got see my rural romance novel Chasing Dust Clouds published, and a futuristic novel, Soul Dancer, which I’ve spent about five years working on.
