Describe yourself in one word:
Sparkly

Tell us about Propositions:
My debut novel, Propositions, was published with Momentum in March 2015.  Propositions is the first novel in the two book series. It is a steamy romance set in the corporate world. I like to write about strong, career minded women who are in the position of power – not the man. My leading lady, Jessica Mason, is one tough gal but her vulnerabilities are uncovered through many twists and turns throughout the story.  It deals with tough career-choices, sacrifices, family, relationships, past and present lovers.

Set in Sydney’s Darling Harbour and the scenic wine region of the Hunter Valley, Propositions is a hot, contemporary story about successful businesswoman, Jessica Mason, a divorcee mother with a grown son. Everything changes when she meets Nate Somers, a British workaholic billionaire and she has to take on the account for opening his new hotel on harbour.

What inspired this novel?
As I find with all my writing, Propositions was influenced by a combination of many elements such as my vivid dreams, events I’ve experienced and my work in corporate marketing.  Some ideas were straight forward, while others were so left-wing, I was even baffled sometimes wondering where they came from.

When I started writing this book I was going through the phase of high school and university reunions and catching up with friends I had not seen in a very long time. I was faced with meeting old boyfriends, girlfriends and intrigued by the life choices we had all made to end up where we were at in our lives. It made me reflect on my own life and realised that in spite of all the hurdles, challenges, experiences, decisions and amazing moments I’ve had, I have wound up in a pretty good place.  This helped form the foundation for my main character, Jessica Mason. Regardless of everything she has been through, she wouldn’t have it any other way. She’s had to work hard for all she’s achieved and won’t give it up for anybody.

What are you reading right now?
Double Take by Kendall Talbot

Number one thing to do on your bucket list?
Go back to New York and do some serious shopping.

Best thing about being an Aussie?
Our lifestyle. I love the beach, the fresh air and cruisy nature.  I lived in Beijing, China for 18 months and even after being back in Australia for nine years, I still wake up every day and appreciate our clear skies, sunshine and beautiful country.

What you want readers to know about the romance genre?
There’s something for everyone.  I think it is the one genre that has such a broad range of sub-genres that any one – man or woman, could find something they enjoy reading.  Romance – does not mean every book is like Fifty Shades of Grey. It does not mean every book is “mummy porn”.  The diversity in the romance genre is amazing and I have met some of the most inspiring people in my journey as an author. Romance Rocks!

What have you got in store for your readers in 2016?
I have two books coming out.  The first book, Acquisitions (working title), is the sequel to Propositions.  The second book, Distractions, is my New Adult college romance.  Both are steamy erotic romances and I’m very excited to see them due out over the next few months.
What were your big achievements of 2015?

  • seeing my debut novel published in March with Momentum
  • hitting #76 on Amazon.com in September 2015
  • finishing off two more manuscripts ready for publication

No strings attached … or so she thought.

Following years of sacrifice and struggle, Jessica Mason now co-owns a successful marketing agency in Sydney. All Jessica wants to do is focus on growing her business and maintaining the lifestyle she’s worked so hard to achieve. But everything changes when her agency wins a major contract for the opening of the new Somers Hotel and she has to take on the account.

Nate Somers is a workaholic trying to please his retiring father. When he meets captivating, go-getting Jessica, the prospect of a short-term love affair sounds like a proposition he’d be crazy to decline.

But when Jessica spends a weekend away at her favorite vineyard retreat, she runs into Troy Smith, the ex-boyfriend who left her broken and vulnerable years ago. Things don’t go to plan when the well kept secrets from her past are revealed and Troy starts weaving his way back into her life.

With her business at stake and hearts at risk, Jessica’s future is destined to change. Who will end up making Jessica a proposition she simply cannot refuse?
