Describe yourself in one word:
Driven.

What is your background with regard to writing?
I’ve been writing ever since I can remember and it’s been the only thing I’ve wanted to do. When I went to University, I studied writing, journalism and editing and the first thing they told us was that you can’t make a living from writing. Way to do Uni lecturers for squashing dreams. I’m now proving them wrong and doing it without the assistance of a publisher.

When did you first begin writing with a view of embarking on a career as a published author?
A year ago. I published my first book at the end of March this year.

Tell us about the first book you wrote
The first book I wrote for publication was the first book in my vampire/witch series, The Witch Hunter. It’s about a young vampire who tends to get himself into trouble with his big mouth and this time, when he gets in trouble with two thousand year old witch from the other side, he needs to call on an ancient witch hunting vampire to help him out. Little does he know that he’s fallen face forward into a blood feud between the first witches and the first vampires. The Witch Hunter Saga is a series of four books following the story of the vampire Zac, his brother, their witch friend and the infamous Witch Hunter vs. the ancient Founding Vampires. Add in a healthy dose of magic, betrayal and revenge and you have an unpredictable ending!

What is your writing routine?
Just do it. Different things work for different people, but when you get down to the crux of it, nothing else works other than just doing it.

Favourite snack whilst writing?
Somehow I tend to forget about eating until my stomach rumbles!

If you weren’t writing, what would you be doing?
Some inane office job. Once upon a time I worked as a hairdresser, but I’d rather the office.

What piqued your interest in the sci-fi/paranormal genre?
It’s one of those genres that you can do absolutely anything with. You can make up fantastical beasts and creatures and make up alterative histories. Simply, you can do whatever you want!

Biggest accomplishment to date:
Having one book ranking in the top two on five different Amazon categories at the same time (and having two others ranking at the same time)

What’s next for you?
Publish the next book in my Romance series and then work on the last book in The Witch Hunter Saga.

Confessions of an Author:

Is there something we’d be shocked to know about you?
I’m covered in tattoos but I’m probably the quietest person you’ll meet.

What do you find easiest to write? And, the hardest?
Easiest: Action/Emotional scenes Hardest: The middle bits.

Favourite travel experience?
I’ve lived in two different countries other than Australia, but probably the first time I went overseas. It was on my own through Europe and I learnt a lot about myself and the things I was capable of doing.

Favourite fictional character:
Don’t have one favourite.

Number one thing to do on your bucket list:
Next on the list is to go to Canada and Alaska so I can walk on a glacier and see an orca whale!

Milk or dark chocolate?
Milk

Red, white, bubbly?
I don’t drink alcohol. If I do have one, then it’s cider.

Salty or sweet?
Sweet

Beach or mountains?
Mountains

Give or receive?
Give
