AT MY DESK: Faye Hall
AT MY DESK: Faye Hall
To say I was excited about being invited to AusRomToday is a slight understatement, but the invitation to do an At My Desk post did kind of fill me with extreme nervousness.
My desk is constantly getting cluttered with children’s drawings and little trinkets and artworks they bring home from school. My youngest son’s slippers constantly live on my desk due to his age and his constant knack of losing them or hiding them. My arm guard also has a permanent place too because unfortunately I can’t type for long periods of time without wearing it.
I share my computer desk with my wonderful husband (who also made it). Our computers sit side by side in our bedroom.
My computer tower also seems to keep getting cluttered with things that I hold dear, like loom bands my daughters have made, or my children’s student of the month badges from school, or hair clips that my youngest daughter likes to put in my hair while I’m writing.
I guess to some this all seems like a lot of clutter to have where I write, but all these things remind me of what’s important to me and that’s my family. Between my husband and I, we have 9 children aged between 16 years and 20 months , so time is hard to come by to write and I have become extremely accustomed to writing around constant interruptions.
Somehow though I have managed to find the time to send four manuscripts to Red Sage Publishing and be lucky to be contracted with them. The second of these, She’s A lot like You, went on sale in April of this year. And at the moment I am in the process of writing script number five, whose title is still slightly in limbo.
About the Author:
I’m Australian born and bred, having been raised in a small sugarcane farming district near Bowen in North Queensland. I’ve been writing since high school and am now very proud to say I’m a published Historical erotic romance author. All my stories are set in townships of North Queensland around where I grew up at the pinnacle of their establishments. I also got to live my own romance story in a way – I first met my husband when I was barely a teenager. Unfortunately our lives took us in different directions though, but after 20 years of occasionally crossing paths we finally got our chance of a whirlwind romance and finally married in 2013.

I thought my desk was cluttered until I saw yours… phew! Not so bad after all.
I like the idea of the footwear… no doubt necessary when you need to “re-boot” the system :o)
Keep on writing
Best wishes
