CHRISTMAS WITH… Lexxie Couper
CHRISTMAS WITH… Lexxie Couper
What are your plans for Christmas 2015?
Relaxing with the family back in Tamworth. Which means hot hot days, swimming and way too much of my mum’s Christmas food. Yay!!
Tell us about a usual Christmas in your home?
Food, laughter, food and presents. We try to out “weird” each other with presents. And swimming.
Any gift in particular that you’d love to see wrapped under the tree?
Err…does a semi-naked Chris Hemsworth count? No?
What is a typical Christmas lunch and/or dinner at your house?
Lunch is a tableful of honey ham, roast chicken, fresh prawns, tossed salads, roast veggies, freshly made bread and lots and lots of desserts (especially trifle). Dinner is always leftovers (and in my opinion, there is nothing tastier than cold leftover roast sweet potato)
Tell us, what is the one dish that gets served every single year? Is there a story behind this?
My mum makes a traditional Christmas pudding complete with hidden sixpence and thruppence coins inside that Mum has had since she was a little girl. Every year there’s a feverish race to see who finds the first coin. As a consequence, a serious amount of Christmas pudding gets consumed in a short stretch of time J
Essentials for an Aussie Christmas…
Trifle. And most particularly, trifle made with sherry. Oh, and swimming. Oh and you can’t forget Vegemite on toast for breakfast.
Your best Silly Season survival tip?
Throw any thought of diet out the window on the day and enjoy yourself.
What will you be reading this Christmas?
The Daryda Jones’ Charley Davidson series. I LOVE it!!!
What have been your big achievements in 2015?
Surviving it. To be honest, it’s been a wild year (oh, and I should also list winning the ARRA’s Best Erotic Book award with Jess Dee, Sami Lee and Rhian Cahill in March, for Down and Dirty shouldn’t I?)
What are your plans/goals for 2016?
Returning to my paranormal writing roots. I’m going to finish two of my paranormal series I started a long time ago and go crazy with a whole new one. I have missed writing paranormal books so much.
A Sprites Tale
Lexxie Couper
When an Aussie bushland sprite collides with Santa’s nephew on a sunny, isolated Australian beach, the sand won’t be the only thing that scorches!
Having decided his uncle is due for a break, Santa’s nephew, Nick, takes on the job of delivering presents and heads straight for the sun-drenched beaches of Australia. After a cataclysmic sleigh disaster with a low-flying Qantas airbus, Nick finds himself rounding up reindeer on an isolated coastal stretch. When all seems lost — including Rudolph — Nick stumbles upon Chrissie, a woman just as mysterious as he.
Chrissie is an Australian bushland sprite, sent after Nick by his uncle. Santa has made his own decision — it’s time for his nephew to settle down, and Chrissie’s just the sprite to fill his empty heart.
