REVIEW: Anna Daniels ‘Girl In Between’
Girl in Between
Anna Daniels
Life can be tricky when you’re a girl in between relationships, careers and cities … and sometimes you have to face some uncomfortable truths. The sparkling debut from comic TV and radio presenter, Anna Daniels.
AusRom Today review:
One of the most striking aspects of Anna Daniels storytelling is the quintessential Australian flavouring throughout—from language through to the sense of humour, the laid-back yet fiercely loyal characters and Lucy’s slightly odd but absolutely endearing parents—it’s all there.
Word of warning: don’t read this in any situation where belly laughing out loud may be seen as inappropriate because I guarantee there are places throughout the book where you will laugh/snort/chuckle (or all of the above)!
Girl in Between was to me a curious mix between The Wrong Girl and Muriel’s Wedding, quintessential Australian in its approach yet with themes and situations that any twenty-something may find themselves in. A brilliant debut novel and certainly an author to keep an eye on.
