A Dirty Book Affair

  1. Describe yourself in one word:
Weird (but in a good way…hmmm)
  2. Tell us a little about your website/blog:
Ever find yourself hiding in the closet just to finish those last few pages of a good book in silence?  Or how about spending late nights finishing up a book when you know you should be sleeping?  These are just a few examples of what A Dirty Book Affair is.  This blog was created with the intent of spreading the love I have for authors and books.  There are so many authors (indie, new, seasoned, established, etc.) out there that deserve to be heard and A Dirty Book Affair does just that by providing a platform for those authors.  A Dirty Book Affair features information on authors and their books, book reviews, giveaways, sales, etc.  Whatever you need…A Dirty Book Affair will try its’ very best to spread the book love.
  3. What can you do specifically to help authors?
Blogging about – the author themselves, their work, giveaways, and/or reviews; Participating in – cover reveals or blog tours; I’ll spread the love for their work in any way possible using available social media platforms and of course word of mouth hehehe.
  4. You have great marketing direction, what’s your number one digital marketing tip for authors?
Enlisting the help of bloggers of course J!  There are always bloggers who are willing to help promote the work of authors for free because it’s what we love to do.  We love sharing with others the books we’ve read, authors we think are great, authors or books to watch out for, sales, and giveaways.  Reach out to as much bloggers as you’re able to.  Even if they haven’t read your work yet, put yourself out there asking for their help just to introduce their followers to you as the author or to a book that you’ve written.  If you find a blogger that’s not willing to help you, then move on and find someone else who is.  There are so many of us out there.
  5. Your all-time favourite novel and/or novelist?
Hmmm…I actually have 2.  They are J.K. Rowling and Gertrude Chandler Warner.  Of course J.K. Rowling is the brilliant mind behind the Harry Potter Series, but not too much people know about Ms. Warner the author of the Boxcar Children Series.  While Rowling inspired me to pursue writing and reaching for my dreams, Warner introduced me to the magic behind reading.
  6. Favourite fictional character:
    Harry Potter of course.
  7. Number one thing to do on your bucket list:
    Publish a book.
  8. What book has changed your opinion/stance on something important to you, and why?
Into the Shadows Trilogy by Karly Kirkpatrick.  My opinion/stance on human rights and equality have been altered after reading the series.  The series reminded me that although we’ve overcome past trials (i.e., Holocaust) where human rights and equality were stripped away from people, we are still living in a world where rights and equality are still being fought for.  Reading the series shed light that there are bigger issues in the world that other people face, but naturally if these don’t affect us, most of choose to ignore them.  Teaches me appreciate the rights, freedoms, and equalities I have.
  9. Biggest accomplishment to date:
Aside from marrying my best friend, I’ve earned my Bachelor of Science in Business Management in 2012.  I’m the first in my immediate family to earn that degree.  So it’s very exciting and humbling.
  10. What’s next for you?
Well, I’ll continue to blog about awesome authors, like yourself, and books I love.  Aside from that though, I’m currently working on releasing short stories and a book of my own.
