SPOTLIGHT ON… Escape Publishing: Sandra Antonelli

Sandra Antonelli
Describe yourself in one word:
Short
What is your background with regard to writing?
After not really writing much since high school, housework became my a hobby. Really. I used to be a June Cleaver 50s housewifely type. Then started writing again and the dust bunnies moved in. I went and did a Masters Degree in creative writing, now I’m at the very tail end of a PhD in the same area.
When did you first begin writing with a view of embarking on a career as a published author?
What is your writing routine?
I have no set routine other than butt in seat, coffee on hand and fingers on keyboard..
Favourite snack whilst writing?
Coffee
If you weren’t writing, what would you be doing?
Housework.
One thing you’d like readers to know about the romance genre:
Romance has something for every taste.
The one book that you’ve read over and over is…
Rebecca by Daphne DuMaurier
Favourite fictional character:
Jane Eyre
Number one thing to do on your bucket list:
I don’t have a bucket list!
What book has changed your opinion/stance on something important to you, and why?
Jo Goodman’s Compass Club Series. I was so not into Historical romance—the 80s old skool Historicals scarred me so badly with the covers and the virgins so I looked at a historical Romance and groaned. Jo Goodman changed that.
Biggest accomplishment to date:
Two books published in one year
What’s next for you?
More writing, or course!
If you could offer just one piece of advice to aspiring authors, what would it be?
Have patience and just keep on writing.
