Describe yourself in one word:
Romantic
What is your background with regard to writing?
I’ve always toyed with writing but it wasn’t until three years ago that I started writing full time.
When did you first begin writing with a view of embarking on a career as a published author?
Four years ago.
Tell us a little more about Seizing Heaven:
Seizing Heaven is a story of magic, family legends, and the concept that fate will succeed in the end.
The central character, Lord Savaric Reynard finds that, try as he might, he is unable to escape his fate which is largely determined by the mystical powers of the Reynard family’s betrothal ring. What inspired you to present the character’s fate as being pre-determined by this particular object—is there a special significance?
Seizing Heaven is the second Reynard family story. The ring was first introduced in the first story, Capturing Bliss. I wanted to show a continuity of a family through time; the stories are linked by the Foxswood Hall estate and the ring itself. The Reynard’s believe the ring holds the power to find true love but it could just be a legend. I chose a ring because of the symbolic nature of never ending love.
What sparked your personal interest in fate being a pre-determined aspect of life? How did this translate into writing fantasy-romance?
I think I was read far too many fairytales as a child (no, that wasn’t really possible). I love myths, legends and fairytales and some of them focus on destiny such as The Devil and the Three Golden Hairs by the Brothers Grimm.
If you weren’t writing, what would you be doing?
Teaching medieval history and still reading fairytales.
One thing you’d like readers to know about the romance genre…
It gives you hope.
Biggest accomplishment to date:
Not counting my children, I suppose becoming published.
What’s next for you?
I’m just finishing off a rural romance and then I’ll tackle what’s next on my writing list which is a medieval fantasy.
Confessions of an Author:
Favourite snack whilst writing?
I try really hard not to snack when I write… sometimes I win.
Is there something we’d be shocked to know about you?
Umm…I’m not a very shocking person.
What do you find easiest to write? And, the hardest?
I find writing medieval or fantasy stories the easiest to write. The hardest thing for me would be the synopsis, I always seem to either too many words or too few.
Favourite travel experience?
Living in the U.K. for a year.
Favourite fictional character:
Oooh, there are so many but if I can only one… Mr Darcy.
Number one thing to do on your bucket list: To travel again.
Milk or dark chocolate? Dark
Red, white, bubbly? None, I’m allergic – how pathetically sad is that!
Salty or sweet? Salty
Beach or mountains? Mountains
Give or receive? Give

Can the Reynard family betrothal ring really choose his true bride? Lord Savaric Reynard is about to find out.
Lord Savaric Reynard is intent on marrying the widow of Blackstone Manor, that is, until fate and the Reynard betrothal ring get in the way. On his way to meet the widow, Savaric is waylaid by Rosamund, a travelling artist.
He doesn’t believe in magic or the old family legend that the Reynard betrothal ring has the power to choose the right and true bride. Savaric soon discovers he can try and run from Fate, but one way or another it just might catch up with him.

Thanks so much for hosting me. 🙂
Lovely interview, ladies. Congratulations on another release, Nicole! The cover is gorgeous. And I love the premise of your series – that the Reynard’s ring can help the owner find true love. Very romantic and clever. Wishing you all the best with it 🙂
Thanks Amy 🙂
I can’t wait to read Seizing Heaven. I adored Capturing Bliss and love that we get to visit the Reynards again!
Thanks so much, Samantha. I do have a bit of a soft spot for the Reynards! 😉
A wonderful interview Nicole!
Thanks Elizabeth. x
Lovely interview. I was nodding agreement, especially to the “gives you hope” bit. Siezing Heaven is waiting on my kindle 🙂
Aw, thank you! x
Loving the idea of fate succeeding Nicole. In fact, I have lots of thoughts on this subject. I mean, does fate succeed without a little push? There again, if it’s pushed it was fate that it was pushed, right? 🙂 Lovely interview here ladies. Thank you.
Thanks Jennie! 😀
