AUSSIE MONTH with Keziah Hill
Describe yourself in one word:
What is your background with regard to writing?
I worked for many years in the public and community sectors doing a lot of writing which was no use at all when I decided to go in another direction and start writing fiction. After ten years of re-learning my trade, I’m on a much more enjoyable pathway!
Tell us about Secret Confessions: Sydney Housewives – Christa:
This is part of a series by Escape Publishing which I had a lot of fun writing. Christa is unconventional living in a conventional world, but she’s quite capable of setting her life up so she gets what she needs.
What inspired this novel?
I was given a character and a very basic set up and had to do the rest. The threesome was my idea J
What are you reading right now?
Peter Ackroyd’s third volume of The History of England and Her Christmas Earl by Anna Campbell (I’m writing this on Boxing Day!)
Number one thing to do on your bucket list?
Travel first class to Paris. Then Venice. (not likely!)
Best thing about being an Aussie?
The enormous diversity of experiences. I live about 100k west of Sydney and every time I visit I’m blown away by so much to do and see (an eat! I’m a Taurus after all). Then I can go home to my mountain cottage and hibernate.
What you want readers to know about the romance genre?
It’s incredibly diverse! There is something for everyone. Hot, sweet, escapist, gritty and realistic; fantastical and heart wrenching. The only common denominator is that the two (or more) protagonists are together and happy in some way at the end.
What have you got in store for your readers in 2015?
I’m branching out from erotic romance to more mainstream romance under the name Keziah Hill. I have a legal romance and a coastal romance I’m working on. In March 2015 I’ll be publishing the first of a fairly gritty romantic series (the heroine has just done ten years in the slammer for murder) under the pen name DB Tait http://www.dbtait.com Cold Deception is being published by Momentum.
What were your big achievements of 2014?
Surviving. I had a big rethink of my writing career which is why I’m branching out. Finishing Cold Deception. Starting Desperate Deception. Getting the words down!
Secret Confessions: Sydney Housewives – Christa
In business, as in pleasure, Christa has two rules: ask for what you want, and be prepared to get a bit creative. She and her husband, Marc, are infamous for their charitable soirees and the obscene amount of money that they raise for good causes around the world.
The secret to their success has always been well-kept, but one chance encounter with Christa is going to lead one lucky CEO to find out just how this unorthodox pair make friends and influence people.
