REVIEW: Shona Husk’s ‘Kelly’
A brand new series offering an all-access pass to sex, love, and rock ‘n roll. Because what happens on tour doesn’t always stay on tour…
From Australia to the World…
Chicago. The last stop of their wildly successful US tour sees Australia’s biggest rock band, The Screaming Tuesdays, in sultry, summer-time Chicago to play two sold-out shows. But the stage is not where the action is, and no one knows what goes on behind the scenes…
Kelly
Shona Husk
Kelly knows what he wants. He’s known from the moment he first saw Jasper. But months have passed and he’s done absolutely nothing about it. Now, the tour is on its last legs, and the chance to chase his true feelings is fading fast. Can Kelly face his true desires or will he live with the regret of inaction?
What AusRom Today thought:
Husk delivers an engaging M/M dynamic with a young, inexperienced bi-curious guy hooking up with an older and more experienced lover. The characterisation in this story was a real strength—both Kelly and his love interest, Jasper, were well developed and likeable characters who in a very short period of time revealed themselves as genuine, caring, and passionate men. Even if you feel that M/M romance might not be your ‘thing’, give Kelly a try. Husk presents an intimate exploration of the M/M dynamic but further to that, this story is also about the journeys we take on the path to finding ourselves. Check out Husk’s Face the Music series (also from Escape Publishing) for more rockstar romance.
