Christmas Extravaganza with Rhian Cahill
Christmas is such a chaotic and exciting time of the year. And each year seems to roll around faster than the last. I swear it was just yesterday we were bemoaning our full bellies, staring at piles of crumpled wrapping paper and anxiously awaiting the arrival of our first grandbaby in the new year and now we have TWO! All between one Christmas and the next. This year will definitely be about family for us. Not that it hasn’t been up ’til now. 🙂
But with our kids grown, and Mr.C and I living in a different country it’s hard to be away at such a special time of year, especially as it’s the first Christmas for Fynn and Indigo. We’ll be making the most of the time we spend together this year that’s for sure.
But family isn’t necessarily blood related. My Frosty’s Snowmen series is about three families who have come together and made themselves a bigger family and that got me thinking about all those people in my life who I consider family and how lucky I am to have them and how I’m looking forward to seeing them while we’re on the Christmas merry-go-round.
Over the years as our ‘family’ has grown our traditions have changed and this year we’ve made a major one. Instead of buying gifts for our adult children and their partners we’ll be taking everyone on a family holiday each year. It definitely makes my Christmas shopping easier and lets face it, picking out where to go and when is exciting and with everyone having busy lives it’s a good way to be sure we all spend time together at another time of the year.
All this thinking and planning has made me curious. What are some of your family’s Christmas traditions? New or old, doesn’t matter. What do you remember most from your childhood? What are some of the things you’ve brought with you into adulthood? But I guess the most important question would be – how much are you looking forward to all the yummy food that’s bound to be served this Christmas season?
Rhian’s Frosty’s Snowmen series is a steamy holiday novella series about a very Christmas-y company and the three directors who need more than a little mistletoe.
A Touch of Frost
Jack had a great reason to be over Christmas: it’s not seasonal blues, it’s his family business, and there’s only so much tinsel you can have in your life without feeling bah-humbug about it. But this year is different. He’s home after a long absence, with fences to mend and bridges to build and a commitment to change he intends to keep.
Elle loves Christmas, and she is not about to let an arrogant Scrooge like Jack Frost ruin it for her. He might have her libido flashing like fairy lights, but she’s been burned by a guy on the rebound before and she doesn’t need a Boxing Day bargain boyfriend.
But there’s more than a little magic in mistletoe, and it may just see Elle and Jack ringing in a very happy new year.
A Kiss From Kringle
For a man called Chris Kringle, Christmas is the most magical time of the year. But this year, there’s something about a certain elf that’s grabbed his attention in the best of ways.
Leah Ward didn’t start the day intending to be an elf in Santa’s Village, but to help her sister she’d do anything, including an impersonation and squeezing into a too-tight elf suit. But Leah didn’t count on the boss discovering her deception – or that he’d be enchanted by it. She certainly didn’t count on Chris deciding all his future kisses would belong to her.
A firm believer in Christmas magic, Chris knows the sparks that fly when he meets Leah are the once-in-a-lifetime kind, and he sees no point in wasting any time. All he has to do is convince a soft-hearted cynic that all magic is real – and that Christmas magic is the most powerful of all.
A Taste For Kandy
It’s Christmas, the happiest time of the year and everyone around Kandy is pairing off. She should be excited for her friends but another year has gone by and she’s no closer to finding her own happy ending. When an opportunity arises to go after what she wants, Kandy grabs it with both hands.
Parker Jones has been in love with Kandy Cane since he was fifteen. Finally having Kandy’s undivided attention is a dream come true and he knows he has to work quickly to get under her skin and into her heart and stay there. But Kandy has a secret, one that could lead to a different kind of connection than Parker was hoping for.
Happy endings can’t be forced, but if Parker can convince Kandy of his love, they just might have a Christmas with all the trimmings.
