What does Valentine’s Day mean to you?
Booked out restaurants! So a special, home-cooked meal with wine and candles is more intimate and fun.
Favourite Valentine’s Day memory?
One VD many years ago, my husband was invited to a corporate function and had to dress up as an American gangster (think Valentine’s Day massacre). By the time he was ready to be picked up it was quite late and he was ‘merry’. I drove down with our beautiful German Shepherd, Ricky, to pick him up and he decided to take Ricky inside to meet everyone. I know, not what you were expecting but the image has stayed with me.
Best ever Valentine’s Day gift you’ve given or received?
Our son.
What’s the appeal of the romance genre for you as a writer? As a reader?
Happy ever afters, but only after they’ve been ‘earned’. There’s too much doom and gloom on the news; I love to balance it out with a feel-good story that moves me.

Amelie Mackenzie chases her artistic dreams in Hawaii after a life detour. That means no more ex-fiancé…and definitely no men to distract her. Should be easy, but how will she resist the hot and sexy marine biologist fighting a battle against a corrupt developer?
Arne Keloki is fighting a resort development which will damage the reef protecting his small Kauai town. Although being with Arne could be dangerous for Amelie, in more ways than one, some attractions cannot be ignored. Will she succumb to the smoldering attraction or will Arne lose his chance forever?
