WIP Me Inspired
I’m going to talk about my latest release Daniel’s Decision, which is book 4 in a 5 book continuity from Crimson Romance called Emerald Springs Legacy.
Daniel Whitman runs the family resort in Emerald Springs, Washington State USA and wants to upgrade the facilities to make his resort the best in the USA. He’s looking to add a facility that will make his resort stand out from the rest, only problem is he’s having trouble finding that unique facility. He has found a resort in far north Queensland which is eco-friendly and has recently won a lot of industry awards for the best resort. Wanting to get away from all the happy couples around him he travels to this resort.
Anyway as I was writing this story I was thinking what can I add in to my story which is unique and real and interesting. I was stumped I couldn’t think of anything and I was getting worried. I’m not one to d a lot of research – it’s why I write contemporary romances and not historical. But I really had no idea where to start looking for something that could be incorporated at a spa which was different to a facial or massage. Then I went on a holiday back home to Perth, Western Australia (I live in Houston Texas) and there I found my unique facility.
We were visiting the place where my husband used to martial arts and they have a restaurant. While we were lunching with my husband’s sensei, he started to talk about a facility they have on site. The facility is called Echoes of Ancient Wisdom. Echoes offers people the opportunity to attend gong vibration sessions where they use gongs to promote rejuvenation and relaxation through mediation. Echoes base their technique on Indigenous Healing and Health practices.
I was fascinated when I heard about the technique. The director of the facility explained that everything around us vibrates and by attending regular sessions you can realign your bodies vibration so the energy around you is back in harmony. There were also other techniques they use which promoted healing in people who had infections and other terminal diseases. I do re-tell some of their cases, as told to me, in Daniel’s story. I was lucky enough to attend a session and I truly recommend if you live in Perth you should definitely check it out. It was very cool to be able incorporate something so interesting in my book.
I hope you enjoy reading about the gong vibration therapy in Daniel’s Decision.
About the Author
On her very first school report her teacher said ‘Nicole likes to tell her own stories’.
It wasn’t until after the birth of her first child and after having fun on a romance community forum that she finally decided to take the plunge and write a book.
The stories she writes are contemporary romances with either a medical setting or in the boardrooms of high powered businesses. She enjoys taking two characters and creating unique situations for them.
Apart from writing Nicole is busy looking after her very own hero – her wonderfully supportive husband, and two fabulous kids. She also enjoys watching sports and, of course, reading.
