Tells us about the Friday Freebie book:
Unconditional is my first book writing as Cherie M Hudson (I’m also Lexxie Couper when I’ve got my really naughty hat on) and my first New Adult romance. It’s a bittersweet comedy about an American college student who suffers from Parkinson’s Disease and the Australian hero who sweeps her off her feet. Or is it she who sweeps him off hers? Hmmm…. It is Book One of the Always series.

What inspired this book:
Why did I write a heroine that suffers from such a debilitating, incurable disease? My father and my brother both have Parkinson’s (and my uncle passed away from complications caused by Parkinson’s) so the disease and its impact on those affected by it is something very close to my heart. Unconditional is, essentially, my way of not only understanding the challenges and futures of those that I love with all my heart, it is my way of helping there be a greater understanding of Parkinson’s.

Who are the main characters and why will we love them:
Oh man, I suck at these kinds of questions. Maci Rowling is feisty, courageous, determined and very strong-willed. Her future isn’t the best, but she has learnt to laugh despite what lays ahead of her. She is fragile, but whoa, don’t tell her that. She is also a fish-out-of-water, being a small-town American college student on a scholarship to Sydney Uni. Raphael Jones, her hero, is not at all what he seems. While he comes across as brooding and arrogant to those he doesn’t know or trust, Raph is warm, loyal and completely protective of those he loves. And when Raph loves, he loves hard and with every inch of his soul…as Maci discovers. Why will you love them? I hope, because they are real and capture your heart with their genuine fears, dreams and courage…and make you laugh and cheer for them along the way. Oh, and Raph had a pet koala when he was a kid called Kenny. How could you not love him for that?

Best thing about Fridays:
Knowing I don’t have to be up at 5:45 the next morning. Seriously.

What’s coming next from you:
Unforgettable, the second book in the Always series (which, I think is due for release sometime in October…I think…) Unforgettable is Brendon the Biceps’ book (trust me, if you read Unconditional, you’ll know who Brendon is and why he’s called The Biceps)

But then I traveled to Australia on a college scholarship program and life royally screwed me over. Again.

Raphael Jones is an arrogant Australian celebrity, the hottest guy on campus and a pain in my ass. Worst of all, he makes me ache for a life I’ll never be able to have. Especially when he takes me in his arms and does wicked things to my body.

How do I have a hope of surviving ten weeks in Australia when it’s not just the paparazzi who have me in their sights, but Raph as well? Because Raphael Jones is a man who always gets what he wants. And no matter what I say or do, he refuses to accept what I so painfully know: a life and future with me is no life at all.
