What inspired this book?
New adult contemporary romance is a genre which I’ve enjoyed reading in the past few years, especially those stories set in college. Unfortunately there hasn’t been much aussie NA yet, and our tertiary system is very different to the US one, so when the idea for Shh! came to me, naturally I wanted to place Olivia in an Australian campus. As for the issues she faces, there was a good deal of media coverage around the sleeping disorder sexomnia a few years ago, which prompted the idea of story about a girl who discover she does more than just sleep when she’s sleeping.

 

Who are the main characters and why will we love them?
Olivia Dean is a nineteen year old college student who just wants to live up to the expectations life’s placed on her. You’ll love that although she becomes a victim of bullying, she’s a strong character who never loses focus of her goals.

Logan Hays is an undergraduate college student, living of campus after taking a break year. He’s the guy who helps Olivia realise it’s not only okay to be different, it’s okay to have your own dreams and follow them. You’ll love that he’s a good guy who has overcome his own demons in order to help Olivia beat hers.

 

For you, what’s the best thing about Fridays?
Friday nights are fun food nights in our house. We’ll have something that’s quick and easy to cook, yet fun to eat, like pizza, tacos, or nachos. I’m not sure what I like the best, slacking off in the kitchen or eating the fun food.

 

What’s coming up next for you?
At the moment I’m working on edits for book two in this series (Oxley College Saga). It’s called Wait! and follows one of the secondary characters from Shh! After that, I have book 3 in my YA series, set to release midyear.
