BUILD US YOUR IDEAL STORY with S. E. Gilchrist

Wow, what an interesting concept, J’aimee. The menu is very tempting and so hard to choose from these tasty ‘dishes’ with only $10 to spend.

Romances with high stakes, danger and a love story that lasts a lifetime are what I look for in my TBR pile and I try to incorporate my personal tastes in the books that I write. I would definitely spend $5 on a Once-in-a-lifetime love because I’ve strived to achieve this wonderful ‘dish’ in my latest science fiction romance, Quest for Earth. There is nothing more soul satisfying than portraying a love that you just know will continue to endure all their lives. My hero, Maaka, wants his people to survive and be equal with the protected race living inside the dome. But above all that, he is determined to have the mate of his heart, by his side. Sherise has other ideas. She’s got a mission to complete and a ton of people longing to return to their own time. She hasn’t factored in a man that connects with her not only physically but soul deep.

Excerpt:

Too tired to argue any further and confused at how quickly she’d come to care for a man who was almost a stranger, she curled up in the furs. Haunting, deep notes filled the air, the tones rich and evocative. Sherise opened her eyes to see Maaka, sitting cross-legged with a long wooden pipe placed between his lips, his hands moving along the smooth timber in a slow caress.

The tune tugged her heart. It spoke to her of legends and myths, love lost and the fight for freedom.

Gradually she relaxed and fell into a profound sleep, knowing he maintained a vigil by her side.

Because I just love science fiction and all the amazing images and adventures those words conjure up inside my head, I’ll have to go with the $4 Escapist, fantasy plot next. Seriously what is not to love about science fiction romance? The genre includes: space opera, politics, adventure and action, danger and creepy aliens, space battles, dystopian worlds, post-apocalyptic worlds, futuristic worlds and all that mind-blowing tech! Quest for Earth is set in the future with a dystopia society in a post-apocalyptic world (Maaka) combined with a science fiction setting (Sherise and her Darkon technology). Oh, and did I mention there are battles with the army of the Half-dead?

I’ll finish my very satisfying dinner with a sweet dessert – $1 Unbreakable connection between lovers. Being the end of my dinner, this is from the end of Quest for Earth:…

Excerpt:

It was time to step into her future. Sherise moved out of Maaka’s embrace and stared with brimming eyes at the distant stars.

Goodbye, my brother. May your life be long and filled with happiness.

Beside her, Maaka intertwined his fingers with hers, his touch warm and firm. When he lifted their linked hands and placed a tender kiss to her fingertips, her heart floated as high as the moon.

And Sherise turned her back on the star-lit sky.

  1. Have to agree with you SE J’aimee certainly has some interesting dishes to choose from.

I loved Quest for Earth Sherise and Maaka are such a great couple one knowing from the start they were destined to be together the other fighting it with all they have, but with all good romances they find they are made for each other.

  2. Yes, Sandie – its the dance of love that’s the exciting part! Thanks for dropping by.
