REVIEW: Victoria Purman’s ‘The Three Miss Allens’

Victoria Purman

The Three Miss Allens is an intriguing story told brilliantly by Victoria Purman who seamlessly intertwines the present day (2016) story with that of the Allen’s family history from 1934.

Of course with dual timelines there are two casts and credit must be given to Purman for achieving amazing individual and collective characterisation of the story’s many stars.

This is a story of intrigue and suspense that showcases and celebrates familial ties, the power (and dangers) of exposing and keeping secrets, and interestingly the parallels between the past and modern times. An immensely brilliant book that will engage and delight.
