Christmas all year round
I‘ve seen some banter on social media about shops putting out Christmas items in November.
Some people firmly believe November is too early to start preparing for Christmas, then there are those like me, who embrace the early sale of mince pies and discounted Christmas trees.
I take it a few steps further than shopping, though.
I break out the Christmas CD’s to help me cope with the end-of-year work rush, and, since I’m a good hostess, I test delicious new Christmas recipes—more than once.
But there are some clever folk who are far more into Christmas than me—they’re the people who read Christmas stories all year round.
I wish I’d thought of that!
So next year I’m going to follow suit. When I’m stuck in the middle of a Canberra winter, a heartwarming Christmas story will counter the minus nine-degree mornings. And when it’s a dry 43 degrees, reading about snowy Christmas scenes will help me channel cool in the baking heat.
Best of all, since there are so many great Christmas reads to choose from, I’ll have no trouble keeping the Christmas cheer alive all year.
But that’s where it will stop.
I will not be shopping and eating like it’s Christmas all year round (cough cough).
Merry Christmas all!

Rock star Gabriel King won’t back down; his hit song ‘Black Christmas’ tells it like it is and now the death threats are rolling in. Online cowards are not going to stop his last minute performance at Christmas Carols in his hometown, and a bodyguard on stage with him would be ridiculous. Until he realizes his bodyguard is his high-school crush, Natalia Jones. Now he can discover why she suddenly hated him all those years ago. Maybe they can harmonize once more.
